Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 does NOT work with El Capitan

May 05, 2016 I recently upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.4 from Snow Leopard and overall it works quite well on my older laptop. With iPhoto having been my main editing app I find that the new Photos app is okay but not quite up to par for me. I would like to be able to manual adjust shadows if needed myself. Sofortbild is a native macOS app for tethered shooting using Nikon DSLR cameras. The software allows you to control any supported Nikon DSLR camera remotely from your Mac via USB. Sofortbild transfers captured images instantly to your hard disk for review in full resolution and quality and further image processing.

After updating the 27' iMac in my shooting studio to El Capitan (OS 10.11), the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 program cannot connect to my Nikon D800 camera. It has always worked before - and El Capitan killed it. i rely on shooting tethered to the camera so that clients can see the images as we shoot.

Honnold

Nikon says that they will examine the El Capitan program ... Of course, Nikon has had access to El Capitan for months ---- and they failed to get ready for the new OS from Mac ... All too typical for the incompetent software engineers at Nikon ...
